RAF at War Living History Group
RAF at War are a WW2 living history group, that educate the public on what it was like to be in the Royal Air Force, both Fighter and Bomber Command, during World War 2.
This is communicated to the public through either living history scenarios/tableau: such as a Battle of Britain Fighter Command Dispersal with appropriate vehicles, uniforms and equipment, briefings to the public: briefing them as if they are a bomber crew about to go on a Ops, or general educational talks.
In addition, we act as historical advisors for film companies, television programme makers and theatrical drama’s providing relevant information/research on the wartime Royal Air Force, having 10 years’ experience within this field.
RAF at War itself was formed in the year 2000 and is composed of serving personnel, ex-service personnel and civilians, all of whom do their best to show the public what is was like to be serving within the Royal Air Force at this pivotal moment in the United Kingdom's history.
The group is Essex based, but have members that come from many other areas of the country, ranging from Kent to Herefordshire and Lincolnshire.
